Installation
VS Code Marketplace
The easiest way to install Secondary Terminal:
- Open VS Code
- Go to Extensions view (
Ctrl+Shift+X/Cmd+Shift+X) - Search for "Secondary Terminal"
- Click Install
Or install via the command line:

code --install-extension s-hiraoku.vscode-sidebar-terminalOpen VSX Registry
For VSCodium, Gitpod, and Eclipse Theia users:
- Visit Open VSX
- Or install via CLI in compatible editors
Requirements
- VS Code 1.106.0 or later
- Node.js 18.0 or later (for development only)

The Marketplace automatically delivers the correct build for your platform.
Verify Installation
After installing, you should see a terminal icon (ST) in the VS Code Activity Bar (left sidebar). Click it to open your first terminal.
